What we collect

When you create an account or business profile we collect your email address, business name and any profile information you choose to provide (address, phone number, description, services, Q&A threads, and photos you upload). During verification we may also collect the contact name you provide for your phone call, your phone number, and any documents or screenshots you upload as proof of business ownership (such as a utility bill or LinkedIn screenshot). We also collect basic usage data such as page views and error logs to operate and improve the service.

How we use it

Your data is used solely to operate your M.AI Identity profile, send transactional emails (receipts, verification notifications) and improve the product. We do not sell your data to third parties or use it for advertising.

Data storage

Account and business data is stored in Supabase (PostgreSQL), hosted on infrastructure in the United States. Payments are processed by Stripe — we never store your card details. You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy. Verification phone calls are placed via Twilio — you can read Twilio's privacy policy at twilio.com/legal/privacy.

Your business profile is public

Business profiles at /nz/businesses/your-slug are publicly accessible by design — that is the core purpose of the product. AI systems and anyone with your link can view your profile, including your business name, contact details, services, Q&A threads, and photos. Do not include personal information in your profile that you do not wish to be public.

Cookies & local storage

We use a session token stored in local storage to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

Your rights

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings section of your dashboard — no need to contact us. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, Q&A threads and personal data are removed from our active database straight away, subject to any legal retention requirements.

NZ Privacy Act 2020

For users in New Zealand, we comply with the Privacy Act 2020 (NZ). You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections. To make a request, sign in and use the Contact support option in the menu.
