The MAI Story

Every great company starts with a vision.

Before MAI Identity existed, there was a much bigger idea. A vision for a technology company built from New Zealand that could help people and businesses use technology to improve their lives.

I can still picture it. Standing in downtown Auckland, waiting for a bus, looking up at the skyline and imagining one building standing above the rest. At the top was one simple word.

Not because it sounded cool. Because I believed it could become something that meant almost anything.

In 2006, MAI WiFi became the first step in that journey. It was the first product. The first doorway. The first way to introduce the MAI name to Aotearoa and eventually the world.

MAI was never meant to be just one product. It was always meant to be the company behind many products. The umbrella.

That vision has never left me. I've always wanted to build one of the world's great technology companies.
